Imoya Kinjiro:
Sweet Potato Snacks and Imo Kenpi in Nihonbashi
March 31, 2025
When in Nihonbashi and searching for a delightful gift or a quick snack between stores, Imoya Kinjiro, known for their imo kenpi (sweet potato sticks) is an excellent choice.
They offer a diverse range of imo kenpi flavors, including salt, black sesame, and their signature original, made simply with sweet potato, sugar, and olive oil. The olive oil is what makes them special! Equally tempting are their sweet potato chips – the purple variety is my personal favorite.
While these are their most popular offerings, Imoya Kinjiro also boasts a selection of other sweet potato treats and soft-serve ice cream. You can even purchase a freshly made batch of imo kenpi at the counter to enjoy while strolling through Nihonbashi's streets. Their small bags make perfect gifts, but be sure to treat yourself as well! (They even have an extra large can of 750 grams of imo kenpi for those who just can’t get enough).
Do note, however, that Imoya Kinjiro is a grab-and-go establishment with no in-store seating, and there's often a little bit of a line. But there is a window where you can peek in and see how it’s all made!
